Booking appointments.

We do understand that it is difficult to get through on the telephones.  If your query on medical problem can be dealt with at the pharmacy, please contact them directly.  This would help us enormously.
Pharmacies can offer a great deal of help with minor ailments and are commissioned by the NHS to provide help and guidance wherever possible to take the pressure off of practices.
We take a large number of calls each day, this has increased in recent months.
Each call can take 10 to 20 minutes depending on the patients requirements. Our reception staff and admin staff are working very hard to get through these calls and have been fully trained to assist you.
The system will not allow you to hang on for long periods of time and will stack 20 lines only. This is to avoid people waiting. Instead of receiving the engaged tone we felt it would be polite for you to receive a message explaining that we are unable to take your call at this time.
Busy times are early 8am until 9 am and 11 am to 12 am.
If you are requesting blood results please avoid these times. Please also check your online record, which will show the results once reviewed by a GP.
Phlebotomy blood tests and GP appointments are available to book online using the NHS app. New appointments are available every day.
Please help us, be patient and avoid our busy times. We are doing our very best.

Appointments online

Appointments for blood tests and GP consultations are available to book online.  These appointments are for discussion of one issue with the doctor.  Blood tests are taken by our own nurses and appointments all on the first floor.

Appointments

diary_appointmentWe operate a computerised appointment system. Emergency appointments on the day are available.  Appointments release in stages, 1, 2, 4,5 7 and 14 days.  7 and 14 day appointments are available to book online only. If there are no appointments available you will be directed to community services or an online form to be assessed in approx 48 hours.

On the Day

Same day appointments are booked through the receptionist.  Once all the appointments have been booked the Duty Doctor will assess your symptoms and if necessary allocate an appointment for our urgent/emergency 5 minutes consultation appointments. Otherwise you will be redirected to other community services.

Please note: Contacting the surgery before 08:00 will direct you to a 'holding queue' for the out-of-hours message, you will then be disconnected.

In this respect please do not phone before 08:00 unless you are actually ringing for the out-of-hours information.

IF YOU DON'T NEED YOUR APPOINTMENT PLEASE CANCEL IT.
